Series perfect for long evenings
I’m
not a person who is very into TV series. To be honest, the idea of
watching nine seasons of one production is rather a scary (and quite
boring) vision for me and there is a high probability that I will not start a series which would take me months to finish.
Usually, I choose ones that have few episodes and are produced with particular attention to elements such as set design and music.
I also decided
to recommend my favourite series now for a reason. In my opinion
November is the best month for watching series – we have long evenings
and the weather outside is rather unfavourable to leave home so why
shouldn't we see an episode or two?
Sherlock
I
particularly like BBC productions but this time the huge success of the
English arrogant detective of all time is due to a slightly wider group
of people, not only the management of the channel.
First of all, we have to bow to the scriptwriters of Doctor House,
who convinced everyone that we love an arrogant and very intelligent
loner, who, however, is faithfully accompanied by a loyal and kind
friend. By the way, many people claim that Gregory House is modelled on Arthur Conan Doyle’s main character but this is not so important this time.
What really counts is the high level of acting that the British present in the series. Benedict Cumberbatch stands out in particular.
His character is difficult to play. We get to know Sherlock practically
exclusively by his deeds. What's more, as the episodes shows - nobody
is able to predict what will move, force to act or irritate Sherlock. In
order to play such a character - sometimes behaving ingeniously,
sometimes lost in the simple situation, it is necessary to have an
unusual control. Sherlock in the series can't smile at the moment when
it's not needed, blink once too much, raise the voice. Cumberbatch plays
his seemingly unshakeable hero in a masterful way.
