Why do wecriticiseso often? As I noticed in my previous post, it is very easy to judge someone’s behaviour but when it comes to a situation in which we ourselves have to change something, suddenly our approach is different.
I never understood people who constantly were criticising others for their charity actions because of the fact that they believed these people only wanted to boast about their help. I don’t think this is a main reason for most people but even if it is – they are still helping. For the person who has received the support they certainly helped more than the critics who did nothing.
So
yes, we can argue that someone cannot say that he cares about the
environment if he usually buys cheese packed in plastic, but is it
really so important? If it is a person who generally tries to reduce the
use of this raw material, maybe we should try to do the same instead of
criticizing this small mistakes? After all, the word “zero” in zero
waste movement form me seems to be rather a symbol of the final aim than
a restrictive rule. The idea is to try to reduce our waste and not to
reduce it completely in one week. What counts the most is awareness and
willingness to change something.
Totally agree. Even small change is a change. Better small than none.
